Dan's Friday Blog

Blog for Friday April 23rd

Happy Friday Everyone! Wahoo!!

Hope you’re all doing great. Well, I’ll start off by saying I made some cringe worthy mistakes in last week's blog. A word that shouldn’t have been there, names spelled wrong, two words stuck together, etc.…I forgot some of the lessons I learned in writing class. I can, however, pass them onto you. Always read what you have written out loud and if possible, get someone else to read it. Those two things are great for catching mistakes.

I read Stephen King’s latest book not too long ago and liked it a lot. It’s called ‘Later.’ Here is the blurb on the back cover:

The son of a struggling single mother, Jamie Conklin just wants an ordinary childhood. But Jamie is no ordinary child. Born with an unnatural ability his mom urges him to keep secret, Jamie can see what no one else can see and learn what no one else can learn. But the cost of using this ability is higher than Jamie can imagine - as he discovers when an NYPD detective draws him into the pursuit of a killer who has threatened to strike from beyond the grave.

I thought this book was excellent! Mr. King has written the kind of book that you can’t put down but you’re afraid of reading too fast. You want to savour it. Had I still been taking the streetcar in downtown Toronto I would have missed my stop a few times for sure. It’s under the ‘Hard Case Crime’ banner. Two more under this banner by Stephen King are the ‘The Colorado Kid’ and ‘Joyland.’ Both are incredibly good.

Take Care Everyone! Have a great weekend!
